8.7. Phase I Candidate System Concepts Each of the systems and architecture concepts evaluated in study Phase I are described in this section in a standard two-page format. A presentation chart highlights descriptive features, and gives an overview of the concept itself and the broader architectural context into which the concept fits. Schematic drawings and illustrations are included wherever possible. A facing page of text gives some further description of the concept, including the originator, and literature citations if appropriate. The facing page also includes a summary box of the concept’s key advantages and disadvantages as recognized during the Phase I evaluation process.
