A modified docking device was created to dock the Progress cargo transport craft. The passive docking assembly is installed on the equipment compartment of Salyut-6, and the active assembly is equipped with two additional hydraulic connections for refueling. The docking device for the Soyuz-Salyut complex, which was designed in the late 60s, made it possible to solve over a long period of time a complex of problems on the joining in orbit of manned and unmanned transport spacecraft.
