Figure 1.11. Linkage during docking using the docking devices of the Salyut-Soyuz complex. 1. passive docking assembly; 2. socket of the receiving cone; 3. socket supports; 4. support drive; 5. receiving cone; 6. active docking assembly; 7. lateral damper; 8. lock drive; 9. lateral spring shock absorber; 10. pyrotechnic bolts; 11. guiding rod; 12. angular limiter; 13. rod of the docking mechanism; 14. socket. The docking system of the transport spacecraft and the orbital station are in many ways analogous to the earlier system (Figure 1.13). Figure 1.14 shows a cyclogram of the automatic cycle of docking. To carry out automatic cycles, the operations are monitored by a programtime device of the spacecraft which issues, if necessary, commands to control the equpment. Control of the mechanisms of the passive docking assembly from the active assembly is provided for through joint connections after they are joined.
