Figure 7.17. Dynamic test unit to test the APDA in a thermal vacuum chamber. 1. moving Frame; 2. slope drive; 3. heat screen; 4. tested APDA; 5. matching ring; 6. hinge; 7. counterweight; 8. inertia simulator. docking mechanism drive (the load is created using springs) and the operation of the locks of the docking frame. One can also monitor the hermeticity of the joint in a thermal vacuum chamber. The installation of the passive docking assembly or its equivalent, with which the tested APDA docks, is done at different angles by two remote controlled drives. The test unit has an electric heater built into its construction, and for cooling the cryogenic refrigerator of the vacuum chamber is used: testing may be done in a range of temperatures ±80*C. The measurement system can be used to record displacements of the screw, the shock absorbers, the velocity of displacement of these elements and their temperatures, as well as the force of impact.
