7.4.2. Debugging Tn debugging, the docking device and its units are subjected to the effects of all conditions in which it will work in the preparation for flight and the flight itself, considering possible scatters of these conditions. As a result of testing, one can reveal a need to change or modify the construction. In testing one can vary individual parameters and characteristics. Debugging is first done on individual units, which are then installed in the experimental docking assembly, and these assemblies are subjected to debugging. Tn contrast to acceptance testing in debugging the assemblies are subjected to the effect of vibration overloads in the full range of frequencies and with maximum overloads for a given part, with a determination of the resonant frequencies of the structure and testing at these frequencies, as well as linear and impact overloads. Operation is verified in vacuum with heating and cooling to the extreme values of temperatures; the extreme temperatures are reproduced in other types of testing, for example, dynamic testing in test units and complex test equipment. Static testing is done with determination of the forces and momenta which are developed, with a measurement of rigidity of the main elements, and the actual durability (with disruption and without disruption). Dynamic loading of the shock absorption system is reproduced in test units and in laboratories, as well as in thermal vacuum chambers. The maximum lifetime is verified in normal and extreme conditions. At this stage comprehensive dynamic testing is done. Moreover, a number of the most critical and specific elements of the docking device may be tested autonomously, for example, the joint seal (see section 3.6). The docking assembly is tested as a component of the spacecraft in a number of experimental facilities for configuration, static, dynamic, and thermal testing, etc. 7.4.3. Qualification Testing The debugged construction is qualification tested to verify that it meets the given technical requirements; usually all or most of the debugging testing is one of the units and the docking device as a whole.
