Figure 5.24. Dependence of the component of force Fx at central impact (Soyuz APDA). 1. experiment (qualification testing); 2. calculation, a. . There are several ways of reducing the dynamic component. Some decrease can be made by introducing an intermediate spring between the nuts of the rod converters and the differential block. A more substantial decrease in inertial forces can be obtained by introducing an intermediate spring with a relatively large rigidity, installed just in front of the friction brake. The choice of the course, initial and final values of the force of the springs may reduce the dynamic component to a value which does not exceed 10% of the force created by friction. The experience of designing and analyzing the Soyuz APDA has shown that the characteristics of the transverse shock absorbers, which also work on roil impacts, can be chosen without significant difficulties by using equation (5.38). The inertia of the moving parts of these shock absorbers, which are mainly determined by the moments of inertia of the screws (relative to the longitudinal axis) and rotors of the electromagnetic brake are relatively small. 5.6.6. Shock Absorption in Rotations of the Spacecraft After Linkage In the general case, after linkage there is rotation in roll, pitch, and yaw. Deformation of the shock absorbers during roll rotation may be calculated using a simple equation
