The basic results are usually obtained using differential equations of the deformation of the shock absorbers. A calculation of the equivalent masses and moments of inertia, even before the solution of the equations makes it possible to evaluate a number of important characteristics. Table 5.1 gives the values of the mass, moments of inertia, and specific geometric dimensions for several docking projects, including some calculated values of equivalent masses and moments of inertia. Calculating the initial velocities for different cases of interaction one can calculate the energy capacity of various groups of shock absorbers (Figure 5.9). Table 5.1.
