chosen for the simultaneous action of external loads and internal pressure; k$ = 2 for the action of only internal pressure. The mechanisms of all active docking assemblies created at present are designed for a short lifetime. This makes it possible to select specific types of structures and materials, to use simpler and lighter elements. Also considered is the fact that the majority of its lifetime is spent in the preparation for flight in Earth conditions. Tn space the active docking assembly should make, as a rule, only one or two dockings. Many spacecraft may be docked to the passive docking assemblies installed on the long-term orbital stations; thus, there is a tendency to increase their number. The docking assembly on the equipment compartment of the Salyut-6 station was used during 1977-1981 to dock 25 Soyuz and Progress spacecraft, and the docking assembly on the transition compartment was used to dock ten spacecraft. This long existence in space and relatively large number of actuations of the electromechanical structures requires the application of the necessary measures to insure their work capacity. In orbit, and in some Earth testing, the mechanisms operate in vacuum with cooling and heating over a rather wide range of temperatures. The external surface is subjected to various types of radiation and the effect of micrometeorites. These conditions affect the selection of materials (primarily, lubricants, resins for seals, frictional elements, electrical contacts, coatings), the type of surface processing, etc. Tn the analysis of effects one should consider the general length of service in space and the length of operation of the mechanisms in these conditions. This also refers to the possible range of temperatures for autonomous flight (in which the mechanisms of the docking mechanism, as a rule, operate) and in the execution of docking. Vibration and linear overloads in flight on the rocket booster affect the durability and rigidity of a number of docking device elements, as well as the construction of the connectors. To protect threaded connections in electromechanical docking devices, depending on the construction properties, various types of screw locking devices are used, usually epoxy spackling, hollowing of the slots, bent washers, etc. Tn
