Another set of problems due to the higher latitude of Europe are the potential impacts on the environment. We found no real differences compared to the US conditions with: 1. The deflection of the rf-beam by the atmosphere or the ionosphere, 2. The attenuation by the atmosphere or the ionosphere, 3. The impacts of the beam on the atmosphere, and 4. The heating of the atmosphere by the rectenna waste heat. Real differences were found in connection with the depolarisation of the rf-beam and particularly with rf-disturbances by the beam.
