MEETING ANNOUNCEMENTS The following meetings are planned for 1980 dealing with Space Solar Power: 1. ESTEC/BGRL Symposium on “Solar Photovoltaics in Space” April 1980. Contact Prof. Reinhardt at the University of Heidelberg, Heidelberg, FGR. 2. The 1980 Satellite Power Systems Program Review and Symposium to be held April 22-25 in Lincoln, Nebraska. This symposium co-sponsored by the DOE and NASA, will be a comprehensive review of the status of research and investigations concerning SPS. The meeting will offer an opportunity for an open exchange of information between individuals with a variety of interests in the SPS concept. The general chairman will be Frederich Alan Koomanoff, Director, Satellite Power Systems Project Office, U.S. Department of Energy. Attendance is open. Intersociety Energy Conversion Engineering Conference will be organized by the AIAA this year. The meeting will be held in Seattle, Washington, 18-22 August 1980 and two sessions will be devoted to Advanced Power Concepts for Space. Thirty-First International Aeronautical Federation Congress in Tokyo, Japan, in September 1980. Two sessions will be held on space power systems. Dr. J. Grey (American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, 1290 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10019) is the program coordinator for the sessions. Abstracts are due by 15 March 1980.
